Norman Foster: Architect

Norman Foster: Architect exhibition, 1984.

As newly appointed Exhibitions Officer at the Whitworth Art Gallery, The University of Manchester, I devised an exhibition with Norman Foster and his office. One of the features of the exhibition was the use of actual building components which complemented the many models and drawings. The poster featured a conceptual drawing for the Hong Kong Shanghai Bank. Other contemporary designs included the unrealised project to build a new BBC Radio Centre in Portland Place, and new furniture shown supporting the models. The exhibition also included early work such as the Sainsbury Centre, University of Norwich.
